"Historic 100" - Twitter hails Babar Azam after scoring his 7th century in 1st Test vs Sri Lanka
Yet another match and yet another century for the skipper of Pakistan, Babar Azam. The 27-year-old has brought up his 7th Test century on the second day of the first Test match.

Pakistan is on the tour of Sri Lanka for two Test matches. The first match of the series is underway at Galle International Stadium.

Batting first, Sri Lanka managed 222 runs in their first innings. Dinesh Chandimal, who scored a brilliant double century against Australia in the second match a week ago, once again carried on his form. He scored 76 runs to help his team reach a respectable first innings score.

For Pakistan, it was Shaheen Afridi who picked up 4/58 runs. Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah picked up two wickets each. In response, Pakistan's batting totally fell like a pack of cards. None of the batters reached the 20-run mark. At one stage, the Men in Green were at 148/9, fearing to get all out and concede a big lead.

But then came another masterclass from one of the world's best batters, Babar Azam. He held on end and kept scoring runs. The 27-year-old has completed a 70-run partnership with the No. 11 to take Pakistan near the score of Sri Lanka. And in the end, the excellent innings came on the fifth ball of the 91st over.

The skipper got out after scoring 119 runs off 244 balls. He has single-handedly taken Pakistan back into the game from an almost losing position. Earlier in his innings, he became the fastest Asian batter to complete 10,000 international runs.

Overall, he is the fifth fastest batter to do so. But fans couldn't stop themselves and hailed this incredible innings from one of the best.
