Finally, on Saturday, the five-time champions got their first win of this season and that too came in a close encounter against the mighty Rajasthan Royals. MI locked horns with RR at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, and MI got their first win by 5 wickets and ended their losing streak.

Suryakumar Yadav was the anchor of the innings that helped MI chase down the target of 161. The stylish batsman scored a beautiful half-century and was adjudged "Man of the Match" at the end. He managed 51 runs off 39 balls, including five boundaries and two maximums. It was not easy at the start of his innings, when he survived a close call in the 8th over by Yuzvendra Chahal.

On the last ball of the over, the right-hander tried a sweep shot that he missed, and the ball hit his pads. Chahal and the RR players were sure about the wicket, but the on-field umpire didn't give it out. But the leg-spinner was so confident that he asked skipper Sanju Samson to go for the refferal.

The review taken by the players showed that the ball was hitting the top of the off stump, but because the on-field umpire gave it out, the third umpire also gave the benefit of the doubt in the batsman's favour. As the not-out call was made, Chahal and other RR players were seen in disbelief and disappointed.

The right-hander also said that this win will give the boys a lot of confidence and will certainly help them heading into the remaining matches. He concluded, "This win will help each and everyone learn going forward in the season."

Seeing Chahal disappointed, Suryakumar went near him and symosthized him and gave him a warm hug. The right-hander revealed his conversation with the leg-spinner and said that it was "sweet banter." During the post-match presentation, he said that he didn't say anything to Chahal, but it was a sweet moment between them both. However, he also accepted the fact that he was lucky to survive and praised the leg-spinner. He said that he always enjoy thay fight between the two in the middle.
