"I love watching them Play" - Shafali Verma names her favourite IPL franchise
After a long delay, it seems that the Women's IPL is well on course to happen in 2023. The specifics are not yet clear but at the moment, it looks like it will be a six-team competition. Meanwhile, Indian opener Shafali Verma has reacted to the news of BCCI's plans for WIPL and also named her favourite IPL franchise.
Shafali reacts to BCCI's plans for WIPL
While England and Australia already have their women's league, India has been behind in this regard. Hence, the pressure was there on BCCI to make it happen. In line with this, a women's IPL is now set to take place. Further details are awaited in due course of time.
Swashbuckling opener Shafali Verma, who has had a terrific start to her career, has said that a women's IPL will help her and other domestic cricketers learn a lot. For the men's team, a lot of improvement happened after the introduction of the IPL back in 2008. It is expected that a similar impact will happen for the women's team.
Shafali names her favourite IPL team
The Indian opener has also revealed her favourite IPL franchise. Hailing from Haryana, Shafali has named Mumbai Indians as her favourite team. She also said that she likes watching the Rohit Sharma-led squad play.

Mumbai Indians are currently preparing for IPL 2022. After a rare season of an underwhelming show in IPL 2021, the five-time champions will be keen to get back to form. They will have a few issues in the initial games for the new team to gel but MI has anyways been known to start slow and then make it big.
