Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has parted ways with head coach Tom Moody after the team's dismal performance in IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has now appointed legendary West Indies batsman Brian Lara as their head coach for IPL 2023.

Let us tell you, Brian Lara was part of the team management of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) last season as a strategic advisor and batting coach. This will be the first time that he is associated with a T20 team as the head coach. Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan will be Brian Lara's assistant coach in IPL 2023.

According to reports, Tom Moody and SRH have parted ways on a mutual agreement. Moody has recently been appointed as its Director of Cricket by International League T20 (ILT20) franchise Desert Vipers, which is set to begin in January 2023 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Under Moody's leadership, SRH had to face defeat in 11 matches out of 14 matches in IPL 2021.

Meanwhile, the franchise said in an official statement, "As Tom Moody's tenure with us comes to an end, we would like to thank him for his contribution to SRH. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.” While the franchise wrote on Twitter: "The cricketing legend Brian Lara will be our head coach for the upcoming IPL season," while announcing the West Indies veteran.

Let us tell you, Tom Moody has also worked as the Director of Cricket with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the year 2021. He helped the franchise win its first IPL title in 2016, under the captaincy of David Warner, and also made it to the playoffs five times.

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was the worst performing team in the last two seasons in the IPL as the franchise won only 9 matches in their 28 matches, lost 18 and tied one match.
