"I'm not going to lie", Dale Steyn reveals the reason for his celebration of Umran Malik's stunning yorker

When it comes to bowling fast, no player has come close to Umran Malik's consistency in this edition. This was on display again on Friday when Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Kolkata Knight Riders. Umran Malik was amongst the wickets and he took the important one of Shreyas Iyer with a stunning yorker. At the moment, Dale Steyn was really happy with the dismissal and celebrated with his colleagues in the dug-out. The former South African pacer has now revealed the reason for the same.

Dale Steyn reveals the reason behind his celebration

Part of the SRH backroom staff, Dale Steyn is the man behind the terrific fast bowling performances that SRH is producing. Umran Malik surprised everyone when he took Shreyas Iyer's wicket with a pinpoint yorker. Most of them were expecting a different delivery and hence, when Umran delivered a yorker that eventually knocked the stumps, there was no stopping for celebration in the SRH camp.

Regarding this, Dale Steyn said, "I'm not going to lie to you. Sometimes, the players' genius comes out. Murali (Muttiah Muralitharan) actually said that he thinks the perfect ball to bowl right now is a yorker. Tom (Moody) and I turned around and said, 'no, if he bowls a yorker now, he is going to be hit for a four over his head'. He runs in, bowls a yorker, and knocks the stumps out of the ground! So, honestly, what do I know?"

The former South African pacer concluded, saying, "The genius is in the players, guys. They have to do what they have to do, and when they have to do it I just jumped into Murali!"

Umran Malik is impressing everyone this season

Although he started this season by leaking a few runs, Umran Malik has been getting big breakthroughs and he is making it happen with his raw pace. This has left everyone impressed as it has been a while since someone from India has been able to bowl this fast so consistently. Yes, there are areas of improvement but Umran has already shown the potential that he has, which can be put to good use for Team India.
