India's best T20 XI based only on current form

India T20 XI Asia Cup

Team India is currently in good form in T20 cricket. The team recently beat England at their home and are also doing well against West Indies. This is despite some of the in-form cricketers sitting on the bench. On that note, in this article, we take a look at India's best T20 XI based on the current form only.

India has a lot of depth and hence, some of the in-form cricketers are not getting consistent chances. Rightfully so, the management is backing the players who are going through a tough patch. However, they could be forced to take some bold decisions with the T20 World Cup set to happen later this year in Australia.

Openers: Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav will open the batting in India's best T20 XI based on the current form only. Although Ishan Kishan did well in the recent tournaments, India has experimented with the likes of Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the order. KL Rahul is also set to return to this position. This could leave Ishan with very few opportunities. However, he is in form and will get his chances soon. On the other hand, SKY has started to open the batting and he has looked comfortable in the role.

Middle-Order: Sanju Samson and Dinesh Karthik (WK)

Sanju Samson has actually done well in the chances that he has recently got. In IPL 2022, he was anyways good. He might not have scored the big runs but in terms of impact runs, he has been very effective. The same goes with Dinesh Karthik, who has become a cameo expert for Team India. He has been very consistent in scoring quick runs at the death, which has helped India finish on a high.

All-Rounders: Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya (C) and Axar Patel

It will be a strong department of all-rounders for this India's best T20 XI based on the current form only. Deepak Hooda has been very unlucky off late. Despite scoring a T20I century recently, opportunities have been hard to come by. Hardik Pandya has been brilliant in recent months and will also captain this squad. Axar Patel won a game with the bat for India against West Indies but it was in a different format. Nevertheless, he makes it to the XI because he offers more with the ball compared to Jadeja.

Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal

The bowling attack has actually been the same for the last few months. Only Arshdeep Singh's position was with Harshal Patel but from now on, it will be a fight between the duo for the third seamer's spot. R Ashwin has been doing well against West Indies but having won the Purple Cap in IPL 2022, Chahal is in better form.
