"It was insane" - Dewald Brevis opens up on first meeting Sachin Tendulkar during IPL 2022

South Africa's young and star batsman Dewald Brewis has shared his most memorable memory of his first meeting with veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. 

U19 Cricket World Cup 2022's biggest star Dewald Brevis played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The youngster has finally revealed his first meeting with Sachin Tendulkar. 

Brevis said that when Sachin Tendulkar met him, he was lying on the floor in the gym and Tendulkar suddenly entered the gym.

"I was laying on the floor of the gym and suddenly Sachin sir appeared at the door. I didn’t know what to do and the first time I shook his hand, it was insane," said Brevis.

MI had included Dewald in their team for Rs 3 crore in this season's mega auction. His base price was Rs 20 lakh. Bravis is also known as 'Baby Abbey'. He had a stellar performance in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 and scored 506 runs in the entire tournament.

Let us tell you that, Dewald Brewis scored 161 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with an average of 23 and a strike rate of 142.48 in 7 matches. His highest score was 49 runs. 

Not only this, he also took the wicket of veteran batsman Virat Kohli in the league match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians had a torrid season. They could only manage to win just 4 out of 14 matches. Not only this, they created the record of losing 8 straight matches in the league, finally winning on the 9th occasion.
