"It's injustice"-David Warner's wife Candice lashes out at Cricket Australia over lifetime captaincy ban on Warner
The infamous 2018 ball-tampering scandal, "Sandpapergate" happened in March 2018, during a Test match between Australia and South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town.

Cameron Bancroft, along with David Warner and then skipper Steve Smith, was involved, and all three received unprecedented sanctions from Cricket Australia.

Smith was removed from the captaincy and a one-year ban was imposed on him along with Warner. CA also imposed a lifetime captaincy ban on both of them. However, now Candice, the wife of David Warner, has lashed out at Cricket Australia over their decision of the lifetime captaincy ban.

Candice has termed this ban an injustice and disclosed that it has affected her life. During an appearance on an Australian radio commercial show called "Triple M", she said that she stood by her husband to give him strength during tough times. She also highlighted that Warner is going and captaining the a team in India and UAE.

She also added that there was a time limit on how long such things would go on. Candice stated that there were many opportunities for her husband in Canada and West Indies. She also said that as an athlete, one can sit and get upset or can move on to the next opportunity and set new goals.

She also spoke about how her husband was one of the finest T20 batsmen in the world. Candice also added that there will always be an issue for David to decide whether he wants to play in the Big Bash or not.

Candice concluded, "David has an incredible T20 record in India, in Australia, he’s one of our best ever. Regardless of whether the ban is lifted or not if he plays Big Bash, it’s a decision we talk about what’s best for the family in this period.”
