With 72 centuries across formats, only Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of Virat Kohli in the list of players with the highest centuries in international cricket. Ever since he made his debut, Virat has been in fine form and score hundreds consistently. It is only recently that his form has dropped. On that note, here, we take a look at the number of International Centuries scored under each captain by Virat Kohli so far.

It will be hard for Virat to break Sachin's record. Still scoring 28 centuries is a difficult feat considering Virat is in the final few years of his career. He also has a few technical limitations, which would further affect his goal. Nevertheless, in ODIs, Virat can breach Sachin's record.

In his own captaincy - 41 centuries

 When Virat took over the captaincy, many felt that he would struggle to be the batter that he was under the others. However, under his own captaincy, Virat was an altogether different beast. He thrived under pressure and made run-scoring easy. He hit 41 centuries in his own captaincy, which talks a lot about his temperament.

MS Dhoni - 25 centuries

MS Dhoni helped Virat Kohli groom to develop into a fine international cricketer. For MSD, Virat scored 25 hundreds and in many cases, India went on to win the fixture. It was a top ride for Virat under MS and the player often looks back at it through his social media posts.

Virender Sehwag - 3 centuries

Virat's first century came under the leadership of Virender Sehwag. The former Indian skipper scored two more centuries under Sehwag. The duo had played together at Delhi and hence, it was easy for Virat to gel into the squad.

KL Rahul - 2 centuries

Under Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli has not scored any century till now. It is a worrying fact because India will play a lot of crucial games under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in 2023. The 2023 ODI World Cup will also have Rohit as the skipper. Virat should look to beat this streak at the earliest. On the other hand, Virat's 71st and 72nd centuries have come under the captaincy of KL Rahul. The 71st century was also Virat's first in T20Is and it came in the Asia Cup against Afghanistan. The 72nd hundred was against Bangladesh in Chittagong recently.

Gautam Gambhir - 1 century

Gautam Gambhir also frequently led India back then. There was a good rapport between Virat and Gambhir at the crease back then. Virat also scored a century under the leadership of Gambhir. It was an impressive knock by the youngster then.
