The franchise recently announced the list of players whom they have signed for the first season. In this article, we take a look at the predicted playing XI of Dubai Capitals for the UAE T20 League.
As per the rules of the league, a maximum of nine foreign players would be allowed in a playing XI in the UAE T20 League. One cricketer has to be from the UAE, for which the draft will happen soon. A player from an associate nation also has to be included in the XI. The XI has been made as per these rules. If there is a change, the below XI would be changed.
Openers: Hazratullah Zazai and UAE cricketer
Dubai Capitals have options such as Zazai and Niroshan Dickwella for this position. However, to fulfil the requirement of a UAE cricketer, they could have to include a local cricketer in this department. George Munsey could also feature here as the mandatory cricketer from associate nations.
Middle-Order: Bhanuka Rajapaksa (WK) and Rovman Powell
It will be an experienced middle-order for the predicted playing XI of Dubai Capitals for the UAE T20 League. Both these players participated in the latest IPL season and were impressive. While Bhanuka will have an important role as a left-hander in the middle-order, he might also have to take up the wicket-keeping duties. Rovman Powell will be the star player of this franchise and will be expected to come good.
All-Rounders:Sikandar Raza, Dasun Shanaka and Fabian Allen
The all-rounder's unit will form a core of the predicted playing XI of Dubai Capitals for the UAE T20 League. Sikandar Raza has been in fine form and will lend solidity to the batting line-up. He will, obviously, play higher up the order. Dasun Shanaka and Fabian Allen are likely to be tasked with finishing games for the franchise with the bat. They are adept in this role and are equipped to do a good job. Fabian will also be important as a spinner.
Bowlers: Dushmantha Chameera, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fred Klaasen, and Blessing Muzarabani
In Chameera and Muzarbani, Dubai Capitals have a very fine pace attack. This combination can help them win a lot of games. Adding to this, Fred Klaasen from the Netherlands as the associate player can also add value with his left-arm angle. Isuru Udana is also an option in this department. Mujeeb Ur Rahman will lead the spin attack for this XI. Hence, his role will be vital.
