RCB all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed replaces injured Jadeja as BCCI announces India squad for Bangladesh ODI series

India vs Bangladesh

Indian team's veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. Let us tell you that he is currently recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in September.

It is expected that his injury might not heal before the start of the ODI series against Bangladesh. For this reason the decision has been taken to not rush him like the case was with Jasprit Bumrah, that eventually ruled him out of the T20 World Cup 2022.

It has been confirmed by the BCCI that Jadeja has been ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh. All-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed will replace Ravindra Jadeja in the ODI series against Bangladesh starting from the 4th December.

Also, there is a question mark over whether he will be able to play for the Indian team in the two-match Test series, starting after the three-match ODI series. Let us tell you that it is also feared that if Jadeja does not play in the Test series, then Uttar Pradesh spinner Saurabh Kumar can be included in the team in his place.

Meanwhile, as usual, Rohit Sharma will be leading the team back from his rest from the New Zealand ODI series. KL Rahul will continue to be his deputy. Ishan Kishan has been picked as backup wicketkeeper batsman to Rishabh Pant while there is no place for Sanju Samson.

Pacer Kuldeep Sen has has made it to the squad. Although both Shahbaz Ahmed and Kuldeep Sen were to be part of the ODI series against New Zealand, however, both the players will now skip the series.
