The Indian squad is now camping in Delhi following the conclusion of the IPL, where they will play the first game of the series before moving on to Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, and finally Bengaluru. While there are many new faces in the squad, some old ones, such as Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya, are returning to the India setup.

Starting June 9, India will play South Africa in a five-match T20I series. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammad Shami are among the Indian team's significant absentees. Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, will be the focus of attention in the series following a stellar IPL season. Rahul Dravid, India's head coach, has stated that they will try to get the best out of the brilliant all-rounder.

Dravid was delighted to have Hardik back in the lineup, both as a hitter and as a bowler, but hinted that he would play a different position than with Gujarat, when he batted higher at No. 4. After a couple of years of terrible injury, the Gujarat Titans captain has surged back to form. The right-hander has not played for India since the T20 World Cup last year, but after a strong season with Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022, he has been recalled.

Pandya's batting skills were strong this season, as he was elevated up the order, and he concluded the IPL 2022 season with 487 runs in 15 matches. Dravid also praised the 28-year-leadership old's abilities, praising him for leading his franchise to their first IPL title in their first season. In addition, the former Indian hitter discussed how to get the most out of the flamboyant batter.

Throughout the IPL, Hardik's leadership was excellent. "We'd like to get the most out of his skills, batting, bowling, and fielding," Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid told the press before the series opener against South Africa.
