Today the last match of the ODI series between the Indian team and New Zealand (NZ vs IND) was played in Christchurch. The match could not be completed due to rain and was abandoned. During this match, Stephen Fleming, Murali Karthik and Zaheer Khan were jokingly discussing their cricket days in the English commentary.

An anecdote of the conversation between these three former players has been shared by Team India's spinner Ravichandran Ashwin through a tweet, on which tremendous response was seen from Rohit Sharma's fan.

In fact, former New Zealand captain Fleming was telling during the commentary that when India comes to play in New Zealand, they get flat wickets here. In response, Karthik and Zaheer reminded Fleming that in 2002, when the Kiwi team did not bowl a single over to Daniel Vettori in the series against India.

Ashwin tweeted and praised Karthik and Zaheer for this funny answer. Responding to this tweet, a fan of Rohit Sharma replied to Ashwin, "Anna one plate idli sambar." In response, the right-arm spinner gave him a savage reply.

Batting first in the match being played in Christchurch, Team India scored 219 runs in 47.3 overs. The Kiwi team had a target of 220 runs to win the match. Apart from Shreyas Iyer (49) and Washington Sundar (51) from India, no other batsman was able to play a big innings. Adam Milne and Darryl Mitchell took 3 wickets each for the hosts.

Chasing the target, New Zealand had just suffered a setback. Finn Allen was out after scoring 57 runs. The entire innings was played for 18 overs and then the game could not resume due to rain. By the time play was stopped, New Zealand had scored 104 runs at the loss of 1 wicket. The cancellation resulted in New Zealand taking the series 1–0 as they won the first ODI while the last two matches were cancelled.
