Here's why Ravindra Jadeja hand-over CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni

Ravindra Jadeja hands over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni, MSD to lead the CSK from the next match

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, have not performed as per expectations this season. And there might be many reasons behind this. But one of them was, as many ex-cricketers also questioned the change in captaincy, too, just before the start of the tournament. However, that change might have backfired on CSK.

But as per the latest developments, Ravindra Jadeja has decided to step down from the captaincy role to focus more on his individual performance. Notably, the all-rounder has struggled this season, and that might be happening because of the captaincy pressure.
As a result, CSK is on the verge of elimination. The all-rounder has decided to handover the captaincy job back to MS Dhoni. And MSD has also accepted this. That means that starting with the next match, MSD will be handling all of his responsibilities while Jadeja will be able to focus on his. That might come as a change in fortune for the Yellow Army.

Dhoni captained CSK in 204 matches, out of which he won 121 times, for a winning percentage of 59.60. He tasted defeat in 82 games, while one match ended with no result. He has led CSK to four IPL titles in the seasons of 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. Dhoni has also led CSK to two Champions Trophy titles.

CSK are sitting at the bottom of the points table with six losses from eight matches. Dhoni will captain the side in their next encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Sunday.
