S Sreesanth Posts An Emotional Note After Getting Shortlisted For IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions
Indian pacer S Sreesanth has got shortlisted for the IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions. IPL recently announced the names of 590 players who had made it to the auctions. S Sreesanth was part of the list and reacting to this, he posted an emotional note. We take a look at it in this article.
S Sreesanth could play IPL cricket again
It was in 2013 that S Sreesanth got himself involved in the spot-fixing scandal of IPL. He was banned and a couple of years ago, the Indian pacer made his comeback. In fact, Sreesanth had also registered for the IPL 2021 Auctions but could not make it to the final list. That was despite him doing well in the domestic competitions. However, for the mega-auctions, the two-time World Cup-winner has got one step closer to earning a contract.
After receiving the news, S Sreesanth was very happy in teams showing trust in him. He posted an emotional note on Twitter. Here is what he said:
Love u all..can’t thank u all enough..lots of gratitude ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Thnks a lot..#grateful and alwys will be grateful to each and every try one of u..plss do keep me in ur prayers for final auction too..”om Nama Shivaya..” pic.twitter.com/XAyBGx9IVU

Will teams pick the veteran?
Although he has been shortlisted, Sreesanth could find it hard to get a bid. His recent domestic form is not great and being 38 years old, teams might not prefer a player who is in the final stages of his career. Moreover, Sreesanth's controversial background might force a few franchises to not consider him.
Also, it needs to be seen if Sreesanth is ready with the skills that are relevant to current IPL cricket. It has been a while since he has been a part of the competition and almost every season, players need to evolve. Therefore, his skillset might not be sufficient to do well in the league. These reasons might come into the picture when Sreesanth's name goes under the hammer.
