Shaheen Afridi or Mohammed Shami? Former India World Cup winning captain picks the better bowler between the two

T20 World Cup 2022

T20 World Cup 2022 is currently being played in Australia. In this World Cup, the matches of the Super 12 stage have already begun. On 22nd October, the first match was played between defending champions Australia and New Zealand, in which New Zealand won the match. The second match was played between England and Afghanistan where the former won the match.

On 23rd October, the Indian team will play its first match against Pakistan under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. However, before the start of this high voltage match, former India's World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev believes that any comparison between Mohammed Shami and Shaheen Afridi makes no sense. There is a vast difference between the two.

Ahead of the India Pakistan match, former captain Kapil Dev said that there should be no comparison between the two as Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler is at the forefront at present. Kapil said in a joint program of Sama TV and ABP News that, "You cannot judge anything by just one over. Looking at the performance of the last two years, Afridi is far ahead of Shami, he is a very good bowler."

"Whenever he has got a chance, he has made an impact. Shami hasn't played much cricket lately. I would probably compare Bumrah with Afridi if he was there but can't compare Shami and Afridi as there is a lot of difference between the two," added the former India all-rounder.

Let us tell you that the result of India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Super 12 match to be held at MCG may depend on how Mohammed Shami and Shaheen Afridi perform with the ball. While Shami is quite experienced and incredibly skilled but he is not India's first choice.

He joined the main team only after the injured Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi is currently one of the finest white-ball bowlers in the world in world cricket.
