Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to win their first IPL title. Shubman Gill was a crucial part of the final game as he scored 45 runs from 43 deliveries to help his team cross the line. In the process, he achieved a rare record. We take a look at it in this article.

Opting to bat first, Rajasthan Royals could not leave an impression. They could make just 130 runs, and the likes of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson failed to fire. With the ball, RR picked two early wickets but failed to disturb the partnership between Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill. Although Hardik lost his wicket, later on, David Miller arrived in top touch and finished the chase.

Shubman Gill finished the chase with a huge six. Although finishing games on a glory note is a well-known event, it is surprising that no one had done in the 14 seasons of IPL before. Hence, Gill became the first player to achieve the rare record.
