Mumbai Indians have had to taste failure in IPL 2022. For the first eight games, the most successful IPL franchise did not even win a game. They are out of the competition but a few former players are doing well. In this article, we take a look at the strong XI of former Mumbai Indians' cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022.

MI is known to have a good retainment and auction policy. However, they were disappointing for this season. Some of their ex-cricketers are doing well and that is further disappointing the fans.

Openers: Jos Buttler and Shikhar Dhawan

Jos Buttler and Shikhar Dhawan are the openers in this strong XI of former Mumbai Indians cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022. The Englishman has been the Orange Cap holder for a while now. He is in cracking touch and hence, he is an obvious inclusion here. Of course, Shikhar Dhawan is yet again having a good season and makes it to this XI. The duo was once part of Mumbai Indians. While Shikhar donned the blue and gold jersey near the initial seasons, before 2018, Jos was with MI.

Middle-Order: Nicholas Pooran, Jitesh Sharma and Dinesh Karthik (WK)

The middle-order of this team comprises arguably the best wicket-keepers of this season. Pooran has been one of the best batters for SRH this year. Jitesh Sharma, who was with MI in 2016, has been the man with the gloves for Punjab. He has contributed with a few vital cameos. DK is in top touch and has the best statistics in the death overs till now in this season. He will keep wickets for this XI.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya (C) and Krunal Pandya

The Pandya brothers form the core of this strong XI of former Mumbai Indians cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022. For many years, the duo helped MI field a balanced XI in every game. However, from IPL 2022, both these players are representing different teams. While Hardik is in Gujarat, Krunal is in Lucknow. Both the players are doing well for their respective sides. Hardik has been the mainstay in the batting department for GT and Krunal has done well both with the bat and the ball for LSG.

Bowlers: Tim Southee, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal

This XI boasts a strong bowling attack comprising players who had once either played for Mumbai or had been part of the squad. Tim Southee has played for MI and in IPL 2022, he has been effective for KKR. While Kuldeep and Chahal have led the bowling charts, Mohsin Khan is one name who has impressed many. The left-arm seamer was part of MI in the past seasons but could not get a game. At LSG, he is the preferred option to open the bowling.
