Royal Challengers Bangalore is one franchise that is infamous for its tendency to release talented cricketers. In the past, this has come back to haunt the team. In IPL 2022, as well, a few former players are doing well for other franchises. On that note, in this article, we take a look at a strong XI of former RCB cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022.

RCB has qualified for the playoffs of IPL 2022. The team did well in the initial stages but then struggled to do well. However, the franchise was eventually able to string a few victories and with the help of Mumbai Indians at the end, they stepped into the playoffs.

Openers: KL Rahul (C) and Quinton de Kock (WK)

KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock will be the openers in this strong XI of former RCB cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022. KL Rahul has been one of the best players in IPL after he left RCB. In the previous seasons, KL even did well against RCB. The player is captaining the Lucknow Super Giants this campaign and has already scored above 500 runs in this campaign. Quinton de Kock was part of RCB in 2018. He was later traded to Mumbai Indians. The South African opener has been in terrific form, matching his performances with that of the consistent KL Rahul at LSG.

Middle-Order: Sarfraz Khan, Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Dube and Shimron Hetmyer

Sarfraz Khan did not get a lot of chances but he did well in a few of them that he got. Devdutt Padikkal was used both as an opener and in the middle order. Despite this, he has returned with a decent show for RR. Shivam Dube was the architect of a couple of victories for CSK this edition. Hence, he finds a spot in this team. Hetmyer, who had a short break in the campaign, has been one of the better finishers in this edition.

All-Rounders: Daniel Sams

Daniel Sams will be the all-rounder in this XI of former RCB cricketers who are doing well in IPL 2022. Although the Aussie had a poor start to the campaign, after a short break away from the XI, the all-rounder came back to form. While the Mumbai Indians all-rounder did not get a lot of opportunities with the bat, as a bowler, Sams did well both at the start and the death of the innings. Following this show, he is likely to be retained by MI for IPL 2023.

Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal

It will be a strong bowling attack for this XI. Bhuvi was once part of RCB and since he has returned to his best in this campaign, he is a part of the XI. Umesh Yadav's last appearance was for RCB before breathing fire for KKR this season. He picked a lot of wickets and helped KKR win a few games. Avesh Khan has been inconsistent but he did have a few solid games where he won the match for his team. Of course, Chahal has been the best bowler in IPL 2022 and is one of the first names on this list.
