Suryakumar Yadav breaks multiple records with his 61-run knock vs ZIM, becomes the first Indian ever
India faced Zimbabwe in their last group match of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. And the Men in Blue have ended the group stage on a high with a big win of 71 runs over the African nation.

With this win, India will now move on to the semi-finals, where they will face the mighty England team on Friday (November 10) at the Adelaide Oval ground in the second semi-final. For India, the star of the match was once again India's "Mr. 360," Suryakumar Yadav, who scored his third half-century of the tournament.

He single-handedly helped India reach a competitive total of 186/5 in their 20 overs and scored an unbeaten 61* off 25 balls, including six boundaries and four sixes. He smashed some of the most unbelievable shots during his inning.

For his brilliant knock, he was also adjudged the "Man of the Match." Notably, a few days ago, SKY claimed the No. 1 T20I batsman rankings, and he carried on his brilliant form on Sunday as well. With his 61-run knock, he has also completed 1000 T20I runs in 2022.

He has become the first Indian batter to score 1,000 or more runs in a calendar year in the shortest format. On the other hand, he has also become the second player after Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, who did it in 2021, to touch the 1000-run mark in T20I in a calendar year.

His strike rate of 193.96 is also the highest in a single edition of the T20 World Cup for at least 100 or more deliveries faced. India scored 79 runs in the last 30 balls against Bangladesh, and it was SKY who did the bulk of the scoring.

Rizwan is currently at the top. He scored 1326 runs in 26 innings in 2021. On the other hand, SKY is also the second leading run-scorer in the ongoing tournament. He has scored 225 runs in five innings at an average of 75 and an incredible strike rate of 193.96.

India and Pakistan are the two teams that qualified from Group 2, while New Zealand and England qualified from Group 1. The first semi-final will see New Zealand face Pakistan on November 9 and then India will take on England in the second semi-final on November 10.
