Team India to play West Indies in USA as schedule for India tour of West Indies revealed

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Indian team will go on the tour of the West Indies in July 2022. There the Indian team will play a limited overs cricket series. Apart from the three ODI series, the Indian team will also play five T20 matches there.

According to Cricbuzz, the ODI matches will be played in Trinidad on 22, 24 and 27th July. After this, the first T20I match will be played on 29 July at the newly constructed Brian Charles Lara Stadium. The next two T20Is will be played on the August 1st and 2nd at Warner Park in St Kitts and Nevis. The last two T20I matches are to be played in Florida, USA on the 6th and 7th of August.

The Indian team will travel from the UK to Trinidad on the July 18 after completing a hectic schedule of one Test, three T20Is and as many One Day Internationals in the United Kingdom against England from July 1st to 17. The Indian team will reach the UK via Ireland. 

The Indian team has to play two ODIs in Ireland, all of which will be played in Dublin. After the five-match home T20I series against South Africa from June 9 to 19, two batches of the Indian team (one Test team players) are expected to leave for Ireland and England on the June 20th.

The Indian team could not play all the matches of its Test series in England last year because of many reasons. The remaining Test match is now proposed to be held in July this year. 

In such a situation, the Indian team will complete that series. The now Rohit Sharma led side is currently leading 2-1 in the series. It remains to be seen whether Team India is able to maintain the same performance in England or not, under the new leadership of Rohit Sharma.
