"The King is back"- Twitter erupted after Virat Kohli reached his 71st International century in cricket
Finally, the wait is over and Virat Kohli has reached his 71st international century after almost three years and has scored his maiden T20I century against Afghanistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India is taking on Afghanistan in their third game of the "super four" stage. However, both teams have been eliminated from the tournament, so the ongoing game will not count in the tournament. But the former Indian skipper has given all the Indian fans what they were waiting for.

The Afghan skipper, Mohammad Nabi, put India to bat after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma took the break and it was KL Rahul who led the Indian team. Batting first, both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli added 119 runs for the first wicket. Rahul made 62 off 41 balls with six fours and two sixes and got out.

But Virat carried on his innings. Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat and hit a six off the very first ball and got out on the second delivery, which brought Rishabh Pant to the crease. And after that, he, along with Virat, added an unbeaten partnership of 87 runs for the third wicket.

Virat did the bulk of the scoring and reached his maiden T20I century in the 19th over of the innings with a six over leg side. He was unbeaten on 122* off 61 balls with 12 fours and six maximums. Pant was not out on 20* off 16 with three fours.

India made a big total of 212/2. With the 71st century, Virat has also equalled the record of the former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting. Now he has the joint-most international centuries in cricket. Fans couldn't control their emotions and the social media was flooded with reactions from all over the world.
