Legends League Cricket

The World Giants won the first edition of Legends League Cricket. The second edition will be held in September and October this year. In this article, we take a look at the likely World XI for Legends League Cricket Season 2.

There is still some time left for the start of the league. A few more players could join it but based on the announcements made already, the World Giants already have a splendid core. They can form a terrific XI and are already the favourites to lift the trophy. There will be one more team for this season. It is not sure if the World Giants squad will split up. We assume that the rules will remain intact and have formed the XI.

Openers: Shane Watson and Matt Prior (WK)

Shane Watson and Matt Prior will be the openers for the likely World XI for Legends League Cricket Season 2. A top signing for LLC season 2 is former Australian cricketer Shane Watson. One of the top openers that the shortest format has seen, Watson will be a massive addition to this squad. Matt Prior has played only a few T20 encounters. Nevertheless, he can go big and would best help this team if he plays as an opener.

Middle-Order: Eoin Morgan and Jonty Rhodes

Eoin Morgan retired from international cricket recently. Just a few weeks ago, he had played international cricket. Therefore, he is very much capable of bringing his A game to the tournament. Morgan will be the most important player for the team. Jonty Rhodes has also signed up for the league and will be an important part of this XI.

All-Rounders: Jacques Kallis, Ravi Bopara and Albie Morkel

Kallis, Bopara and Albie Morkel will be the all-rounders in the likely World XI for Legends League Cricket Season 2. Like the other teams, the performance of this department will decide the fate of the squad. Jacques Kallis was the recent addition to the league. He is arguably the best all-rounder that the game has seen. Hence, he will play an important role. Ravi Bopara has been part of various T20 leagues and his experience will also be useful. Albie Morkel is a fine T20 all-rounder and will add value to this line-up.

Bowlers: Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn and Monty Panesar

It will be a stunning pace attack for this XI. Lee, Johnson and Dale Steyn would be part of the attack. Be it any format of the game, this pace attack is effective and will surely be the best in the competition. At the moment, Monty Panesar is the only spin recruit for the team. There could be more additions going forward.
