The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway in Maharashtra, where 10 franchises are competing against each other to win the prize. Royal Challengers Bangalore are playing under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis for the first time this year. Fans expected Virat Kohli to have a great season since he no longer has the pressure of captaincy.

However, the same has not happened yet. Virat started on a decent note with some promising starts. However, his numbers have gone down in the last few matches. In fact, in the last two innings, Kohli has recorded twin golden ducks.

For the first time in his Indian Premier League career, Virat Kohli has gotten out on the first ball in two consecutive innings. The right-handed batter handed a catch to Aiden Markram off the first ball bowled by Marco Jansen earlier tonight in the game between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Earlier this season, in the match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kohli got out for a golden duck off Dushmantha Chameera’s bowling.

Kevin Pietersen posts a tweet to console fans after Virat Kohli gets out for 0 again

It is rare to see Virat Kohli failing. Very few times fans have seen Kohli getting out for 0 in back-to-back innings. Here’s what Virat’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Kevin Pietersen tweeted after seeing the downfall of Kohli this season:

“You want a fact? Every single great of our game has been through what Virat is going through. Want another fact? They all get through it and deliver on the big stage again.”

Many fans have agreed with what Pietersen wrote. It will be interesting to see if Virat can make a comeback in his IPL career just like some greats have done in the past.
