"This is Ridiculous"- Fans show their frustration that Tahila McGrath allowed to play after testing Covid+ vs India in CWG 2022 final
The star of the match was Beth Mooney, who scored her 13th fifty in T20 internationals. She made 61 runs off 41 balls with eight fours. But one thing that didn't go well with the fans around the world was Tahila McGrath, who featured in the playing XI for Australia.
Notably, McGrath was tested for COVID positivity ahead of the final game, but she was still allowed to play in the match. She didn't come out with her teammates during the national anthem and was sitting in the dugout wearing a mask on. But she came out to bat at No. 4.
However, Cricket Australia confirmed the news of the all-rounder featuring in the final. But after the consultation of the medical team, she was allowed to take part in the match.
This is the first instance in international cricket that a player was allowed to play in a match even after testing positive. McGrath was asked to follow the Covid protocols strictly. However, it didn't go well with the fans on social media, and they rightly showed their frustration on Twitter.
Now, because Tahila McGrath is infected with covid and she is still playing, I would like to request the @Commonwealthbak to award 2 gold medals this time as compensation

Inspite of testing positive Tahila MCGrath is allowed to play the finals and then she takes a catch. Now, the match will continue with the same ball. Okay. #INDvsAUS #India4CWG2022 #CWG22 #INDWvAUSW

And I am wondering how officials gave Tahila McGrath permission to play CWG Finals and who were those officials?
Will this be investigated by ICC later??#INDvAUS#CWG22india https://t.co/WKkxUq8Vqw

Tahlia Mcgrath came out without a mask despite being covid positive, then whats the point of isolating from teammates and wearing a mask in the dugout?
Where are the precautions?#INDvsAUS pic.twitter.com/nSCiJDOrgD
Tahila McGrath represents a country that ensured Novak Djokovic was deported and not allowed to play in Aus Open for being unvaccinated and was called a threat. When it came to one of their own - it was okay to let her play with covid?
