Veteran Indian Pacer all set to join Mumbai Indians for the rest of the tournament

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League hasn't been a happy hunting season for the most successful franchise in the IPL. It has been 25 days since the start of the tournament and the five-time champions are struggling to get their first win of the tournament till now. As a result, they are sitting at the bottom of the table with six losses from six matches this season.

The major issue with the team is in the bowling department, where they are struggling to get a quality pacer into the team. Their ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, is also unable to make any impact and is struggling so far. That has led the team to their downfall.

However, now they will face a do-or-die situation in the remaining matches. To make it to the next round, Rohit Sharma and his team must win all their remaining eight league games. Only then can they create any chance. But that is looking quite difficult with such a stacked bowling lineup. So, to give strength to the team, MI has added a veteran pacer.

Dhawal Kulkarni is all set to join the Mumbai camp for the rest of the tournament. The 33-year-old went unsold at the IPL 2022 auction and is a member of the Star Sports commentary panel.
Now the franchise has signed him again, and he will again represent his former team. The veteran pacer has played 92 games and has 86 IPL wickets to his name. He has represented MI, RR, and Gujarat Lions in his IPL career. He was part of the same franchise in the 2020–2021 season, but played only one game.
But after looking at the current bowling line-up, MI, he is likely to get more chances now. As per a few media reports, a source said that the MI skipper, Rohit Sharma, was eager to add Kulkarni to the team.
He said that being a local player from Mumbai, the veteran pacer is aware of the conditions and pitch in Mumbai and Pune. Because the whole tournament will be played on these pitches, and his experience will help the team as well.
Notably, the pacer is well experienced in playing in the IPL, as he has been a part of the tournament since its inception. And this season will be his 9th season with the Mumbai Indians.
