Virat Kohli surpasses Suresh Raina in T20 cricket to achieve major feat
Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave RCB a decent start and played with caution. The RCB skipper played the aggressor role and played his shots. On the other hand, the former RCB skipper was giving his support from the other end. Both openers added 62 runs for the first wicket in 7.2 overs before Du Plessis lost his wicket to Moeen Ali after scoring 38 runs off 22 balls.
However, the former RCB skipper struggled in his innings. Virat played an uncharacteristic innings of 30 runs off 33 balls, including three fours and one maximum. He too got out to Moeen Ali on the fifth ball of the 10th over. However, he wasn't able to complete 6500 IPL runs and got out one short of that. He has now scored 6499 runs in 210 IPL innings.
However, in his innings, he achieved a different feat in T20 cricket. The 33-year-old surpassed former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina for hitting the highest number of T20 sixes. He has now hit the second most sixes by an Indian, just behind Rohit Sharma. Raina has hit 325 T20 sixes in his career.

Virat achieved this landmark on the sixth ball of the fourth over, when he hit Simarjeet Singh for a six. Now he has 326 sixes in his career. Talking about RCB, they ended their first innings at 173/8 in their 20 overs. Cameos from Mahipal Lomror (42 off 27), Rajat Patidar (21 off 15) and Dinesh Karthik (26* off 17) helped them to a competitive total.
