Watch: "There is..."- Shubham Gill clarifies everything about the Rishabh Pant-Urvashi Rautela saga
This led to various cryptic Instagram posts and stories from both sides, which sparked the rumour even more. However, now Pant's teammate and young Indian opener Shubman Gill has opened up about that Pant-Urvashi episode and also told how other players in the team reacted to it.
Notably, in an interview on Bollywood Hungama in August, Urvashi revealed that once "Mr. RP" was waiting to meet her in Delhi during an event and also tried to contact her by phone, leaving "16–17 missed calls." However, Pant also responded in an interview, saying that it is funny how people tell lies just to get fame.
Pant posted an Instagram story with a caption, "Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them "merapichachorhoBehen #Jhutkibhilimithotihai." However, Pant deleted that story later.
But in response, Urvashi also came up with a cryptic story on her Instagram, which she deleted later. She wrote, "Chotu bhaiyaa should play bat ball. Main koyi munni nahi hoon badnam hone with young kiddo darling tere liyee #Rakshabandhan Mubarak ho #RPChotuBhaiyya#Cougarhunter #donttakeadvantageofasilentgirl #love #UrvashiRautela #UR1."
It led to another cryptic Instagram post from Pant, saying, "Don't stress over what you cannot control." And now, after three months, Gill has cleared up all those rumours in a chat show called "Dil Diyan Gallan," with Sonam Bajwa. He was asked about how all the players in the team reacted to that.
Gill said that there is nothing like this from Pant's side, and he is not distracted at all by all her activities. However, Gill also said that it is the Bollywood actress that wants to get into it and want the attention.
Both youngsters are currently on the Indian side's tour of New Zealand for three T20Is and three ODIs. The first game of the tour was washed out due to rain, while the second T20I will take place on Sunday at the Bay Oval.
