Watch - Kumar Sangakkara delivered a calm speech to Rajasthan Royals after their defeat against Delhi Capitals

On Wednesday, RR faced a big defeat at the hands of the Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium by 8 wickets. However, RR are still favourites to make it to the playoffs, but certainly, they didn't perform as per their full potential in the match. This might have shaken the morals of the players who were looking good in the first half of the season. Notably, RR has now lost three out of the last four they have played. And to boost the confidence of the players, RR director of cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, came up with some morale-boosting words after the game last night.

Just a day ago, cricket fans saw LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir giving a fiery speech to the players after their loss against Gujarat Titans. That became the talk of the town, and now Sangakkara's speech has caught the eyes of everyone. GG talked about "game awareness" and "never give up", while the former Sri Lankan skipper spoke about the quality of the players and keep trusting your ability after the defeat against DC.

The Rajasthan franchise posted a video clip featuring Sangakkar talking to the players after the defeat last night, with a caption reading, "Losing is tough. The fight is tough. But we choose our tough." The 44-year-old asked players not to panic and to believe in themselves.

He said to the player that everyone knows that we are better than this performance and knows the ability of every player. He also said that it is just about executing the plan every time whenever we get the opportunity. Sangakkara concluded in a very calm manner. "Alright boys, so chin up, smiles back on, calm, even we keep going. Okay, well done!"

Rajasthan gave DC a target of 161 in their 20 overs after batting first. From the RR camp, Ashwin was promoted to No. 3 and he responded pretty well with his maiden IPL half-century. He, along with Devdutt Padikkal, helped Rajasthan reach the 160-run mark. Chasing the target, DC lost their first wicket in the very first over, when Srikar Bharat got out to Boult. But then Warner and Mitchell Marsh added a massive partnership of 144 runs for the second wicket to help their team seal the deal.

Marsh scored 89 runs off 62 balls and Warner was unbeaten on 52. DC chased down the target with eight wickets in hand. Marsh was also named "Man of the Match" for his all-round performance, as he also took two wickets with the ball in his hand.
