Yorkshire announces Dominic Drakes as replacement for outgoing Shadab Khan for T20 Blast
English County side Yorkshire have announced Dominic Drakes as the replacement for Pakistan's Shadab Khan for atleast 4 games of the ongoing T20 Blast tournament.
While the Yorkshire Vikings continue to having a pretty average season this year in the currently ongoing T20 Blast, England's premier T20 cricket tournament, currently sitting 4th in the North Group with only 1 win from 4 matches, with other teams arround them have played 1 less than them.
And now, they have also received a major setback as key player, Pakistan's Shadab Khan is set to leave the team's camp to link-up with the Pakistan cricket team for their upcoming 3 match ODI series against West Indies.
The club have now announced the signing of the West Indies all-rounder Dominic Drakes for atleast upcoming 4 matches of the season with the Pakistani all-rounder likely to link-up with the team after the conclusion of the ODI series with Pakistan.
Meanwhile for Dominic Drakes, the West Indies all-rounder has a good track-record in the T20 competition, lighting the Caribbean Premier League with his blistering performance for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.
Drakes joined the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the IPL in 2021 as a replacement to Sam Curran, but didn't featured for them. He was again picked by the new franchise Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2022. Even though he didn't featured for them in any of the matches, he went on to lift the Trophy as Gujarat won the IPL 2022.
Drakes has so far played a total of 24 T20 matches and has 23 wickets to his name. He has also scored 162 runs with a strike rate of 152.8.
