Aakash Chopra selects Top 5 batters in Test cricket in 2021, includes 2 Indians

Test cricket was at its finest this year as we witnessed some top class Test matches involving every other teams. Whether it is the India vs Australia or the World Test Championship Final, Test cricket showcased its true class.

In the modern days of cricket, Test cricket has failed to keep the fans at the edge of their seat with the introduction of more faster formats, the likes of T20 and T10 cricket.

But, 2021 was exception to that, it really kept the fans at the edge of the seat. This year, Test cricket showed its true form.

Aakash Chopra picks Top 5 Batsman in Test Cricket in 2021

Former Indian cricketer and now a commentator and cricket analyst Aakash Chopra has picked his top 5 batters from Test cricket this year during a recently uploaded video on his YouTube channel.

At first, the former India cricketer picked Fawad Alam at number 5. The Pakistani batsman has made the most of his comeback. He has scored 513 runs from 7 matches. 

At number 4, he picked Sri Lanka's Lahiru Thirimanne. The Sri Lankan has scored 659 runs from 7 matches  and he scored all those runs while playing away in England, South Africa and West Indies.

Number 3 is India's wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Pant had an extraordinary year in Test cricket, he was one of the heroes of India's Test series victory in Australia. Pant has scored 706 runs from 11 matches.

The top two are no doubt India's opening batsman Rohit Sharma and England cricket team's captain Joe Root. Rohit Sharma has had a great year as the Mumbaikar has scored 906 runs in 11 matches.

Whereas Joe Root is highest run scorer in the Test format this year. Root has scored 1500 runs and going in the Ashes 2021-2022 being played in Australia. He has also scored 2 double centuries against India and Sri Lanka this year.
