Australia crush England as the Aussies win the Ashes

Australia beat England 3rd Ashes Test

With the help of a brilliant five-wicket haul from Scott Boland, playing the debut Test, Australia bundled out England for 68 runs on the third day of the Melbourne Test on Tuesday, the third Ashes Test, by an innings and 14 runs in just 2 and less than half-days play.

As a result of which, Australia has now won the series with 2 matches still to be played by 3-0.

On the third day, the visiting team started the proceeding from their overnight score of 31 runs for 4 wickets. But Boland's excellent bowling shattered the dreams of the English team for a comeback in the Ashes 2021-2022.

Ben Stokes could only add 9 runs to his overnight score of 2 runs as he was dismissed for 11 runs. The All-Rounders poor run of form in the tour continues after he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc. All the hopes of the England team rested on captain Joe Root and when he was caught on the ball of Boland after scoring 28 runs, the England team knelt.

Winning the Melbourne Test was vital for England to stay in the five-Test series after heavy losses in Brisbane and Adelaide, but they failed to do so.

After being all out for just 185 in the first innings, England restricted Australia to 267, thanks to a brilliant spell from veteran pacer James Anderson. But it was difficult for England to win the match with Australia having a lead of 82 runs.

In such a situation, the team expected a tough effort from its batsmen in the second innings but it all just failed apart. England's batting once again failed in this Ashes series and the second innings of the visiting team was reduced to only 68 runs.

The Starc-Boland and Cummins-led Australian pace attack sent Dawid Malan (0) and nightwatchman Jack Leach (0) cheaply to the pavilion after easily removing openers Zack Crowley (5) and Haseeb Hameed (7) on the second day.

Once again, the hope of the team was Captain Root but this time he too could not save the batting order of the England team. Australia has now won the series 3-0, with England having no chance to match that in the coming 2 matches.
