Babar Azam regain top spot in T20I Ranking, Indians fail to make it to top 10

Babar Azam top of ICC T20I Ranking

Babar Azam has returned to the top of the ICC T20I rankings after scoring a brilliant 69 in the last T20 match of the series against the West Indies.

After the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan captain failed to score much in five consecutive International Twenty20 matches against Bangladesh and the West Indies. As a result, he had drop out of the top spot. This time, however, Babar has returned to the top spot of the ladder but will be accompanied by Dawid Malan at the top with both the joint 1st.

But not only Babar, but also another Pakistan opener and Babar Azam's teammate Mohammad Rizwan has improved on his personal T20I ranking position. He has risen one step in the recent list of T20I batsmen ranking and now finds himself at number three.

KL Rahul is still at number five as before. However, Virat Kohli could not make it to the top ten this time as well. Kohli and Rohit Sharma are at number 11 and 12 respectively like they were before the latest update.

Even at the top steps of T20I bowlers' ranking, there is no one representing India. No Indian star has made it to the top ten of all-rounders. Wanindu Hasaranga tops the list of bowlers. Mohammad Nabi is number one in the list of all-rounders. Shakib Al Hasan is second in the list of all-rounders.

The highest ranked Indian bowler in the T20I ranking is Bhuvneshwar Kumar at number 19, way off than the Indian fans might expect, whereas, there is no Indian all-rounder inside the top 20 of the list, Oman has 2 players in the top 12, while Namibia's JJ Smit is at number 7 in the Ranking.

India's poor result in the ranking could well be because of India's average performance in the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma is the highest run scorer for India in the 2021. The batting maestro has scored 424 runs from 11 matches this year at an average of 38.55.
