"Australia Is Not Concerned About Spin.."- Pat Cummins's bold claim ahead of the 1st test of the BGT series

The hype for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy is increasing with every passing day. On February 9, two of the best test teams will lock horns in the first game of the four-match series in Nagpur. Many former cricketers from both sides have delivered various statements to create more buzz.

With the pitches in India offering more assistance to the spin bowlers, the team's spin bowling combination might get an edge over the opposition. India has picked four spinners in their squad: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Meanwhile, Australia has also picked up three spinners for the squad: Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar, and Mitchell Swepson. However, Australian captain Pat Cummins has admitted that spinners may be used and that Australia has enough spin options for India.

In an interaction with the media on Saturday, Cummins said that Swepson and Agar are there to help Lyon in the game. He also said that the choice of bowlers will depend on pitch conditions, and there is no pre-planning for anything. Cummins stated that Australia has also got some really good pacers, so just talking about spinners will not do.

He said, "I think sometimes, talking about a couple of spinners, you forget how good a lot of our fast bowlers have been in all conditions. Even some of the SCG wickets, there hasn’t been much in them for quick bowlers, but the quick bowlers have found a way."

Australia is at the top of the World Test Championship and has almost secured its place in the final. On the other hand, India needs to register a big series win against Australia by 3-0 or 3-1 to advance to the final. However, it will be a difficult task because Australia has recently won four consecutive test series. The other venues for the remaining games are Delhi, Dharamshala, and Ahmedabad.
