CSK signed South African ace pacer as Kyle Jamieson's replacement for IPL 2023
The next edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin in just a few weeks. The first clash will see a blockbuster game between the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.

All ten IPL teams are preparing at full tilt to make the upcoming season count. However, the next season will also be important because, after three seasons, teams will be able to play games with a home-and-away template.

With two new teams joining the other eight in the TATA IPL 2022, it will be more competitive. As a result, it saw two of the most important teams, CSK and MI, finish in the last two. Chennai entered the previous season as the defending champion but finished ninth at the table. They won only four out of 14 group games.

But with new seasons coming up, the franchise has made some notable changes to the squad to give it more strength. They have acquired superstar English all-rounder Ben Stokes, which can prove to be a master stroke for the Yellow Army.

Meanwhile, they also signed Kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson at his base price of INR 1 crore to strengthen their bowling attack. However, ahead of the start, Jamieson suffered an injury and was ruled out of the upcoming season. As per the latest developments, the franchise has named the South African pacer Sisanda Magala as Jamieson's replacement.

Magala comes up with immense experience in the shorter format and has performed pretty well in T20s at domestic level. He will soon join the CSK setup at his base price of INR 50 lakh. Magala became the second player to join the league as a replacement player. Earlier, RCB signed Michael Bracewell in place of injured English star Will Jacks.
