The next edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin on March 31. The first game will see the defending champion lock horns with the four-time champion. It will be Gujarat Titans against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
It will be a blockbuster of a game with the former Indian captain, who led India to the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, leading CSK. Thus, the fans are excited to see MSD once again. Notably, Chennai didn't have a great season in 2022.
They finished ninth in the table with only four wins out of 14. Furthermore, Dhoni also indicated that the 2023 edition will be his last, which has left fans even more eagerly waiting for him to bat one last time. Dhoni has already arrived in Chennai on March 2 and has started his power-hitting practice.

The CSK skipper is well-known for hitting big and powerful shots. And in the video, fans can see glimpses of that. Meanwhile, CSK will play their first game at home on April 3 against Lucknow Super Giants. It will be the first game for the franchise at home after a long wait of three years, which has made fans more excited.
MSD has a huge fan following everywhere he goes. Dhoni stepped down as captain ahead of the start of the 2022 season, and it was handed to Ravindra Jadeja. However, that move went totally the wrong way, and CSK had a horrible start.
Hence, the franchise gave the captaincy back to Dhoni midway through the season, and Jadeja was also ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
