Two-time IPL winner Jacques Kallis made a bold prediction; picks two finals and the winner of IPL 2023
The biggest tournament in the game of cricket will start tomorrow, with 10 teams competing to win the coming edition of the Indian Premier League. It will kick off when the Chennai Super Kings face off against the Gujarat Titans on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The eyes of the whole world are on the IPL 2023 because all the biggest names are taking part in the coming season. IPL 2022 saw a complete turnaround with the addition of the two new teams. Eventually, it was the Gujarat Titans who won the tournament in their first attempt.
Meanwhile, two of the most successful teams of the competition, the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who have nine IPL teams between them, ended at the bottom two positions on the table. Thus, the expectation for the coming season is also very high.
With not much time left for the competition to start, the predictions have already started. Many former cricketers and cricket analysts have given their predictions for the coming season. Former KKR star Jacques Kallis, who was part of the 2012 and 2014 IPL winning teams, made bold predictions and chose two finalists.
In a discussion on Star Sports, Kallis picked the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, two teams to play in the final of the coming season. Furthermore, he also predicted the winner. He said that this time, DC will beat MI in the final to win their maiden IPL title.
Notably, these two teams have met once in the IPL final in the 2020 season, and it was MI that won it. MI has won a total of five times in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, while DC is searching for their maiden title. DC faced a huge blow after skipper Rishabh Pant suffered a horrible car accident and got ruled out.
The franchise has named David Warner as their captain in 2023 and Axar Patel as his deputy. DC has some big names on their team that can turn the tables around for them.
