"We deserve to lose"- Virat Kohli comes hard on RCB after 21-run loss vs KKR

On Wednesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. And it was the second time in the competition that RCB lost to KKR. It was another game where the 200 was scored.

RCB stand in skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. KKR had a brilliant start with both openers adding 83 runs for the first wicket. Jason Roy smashed 56 off 29, with four boundaries and five sixes. But then, KKR had a decent third-wicket partnership.

Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer (31 off 26) added 80 runs. KKR skipper played a brilliant knock of 48 off 21. In the end, Rinku Singh played cameo of a 10-ball 18 and KKR posted a total of 200/5 in their first inning.

Chasing the target, RCB lost three wickets in the power play. But Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror (34 off 18) added 55 runs for the fourth wicket. But in the end, RCB reached only 179/8 and lost the game by 21 runs. WIth this win, KKR ended their losing streak of four games. After the game, Virat admitted that KKR were better team and they derseve to win.

In the post match presentation, Virat said, "To be honest we handed them the game. We did deserve to lose. We handed them a victory. We were certainly not up to standard. If you look at the game, we didn’t capitalize our chances. We dropped a few chances which cost us 25-30 runs."

RCB is currently in fifth place with four wins and four defeats. They are left with only one game at home now, which will be played on May 21. RCB will all of their next five games at away fixture. They will face Lucknow Super Giants on Monday, May 1 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
