India registered a comprehensive 67-run win over Sri Lanka in the first ODI match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. For India, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had a brilliant comeback after a break from international cricket.

Both Indian stalwarts scored runs and showed their vintage best. Rohit was unfortunate as he was looking good for a century but got out for 83 runs off just 67 balls, with nine fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Virat scored his second successive ODI century. Notably, the former Indian captain scored his 44th ODI ton against Bangladesh last month.

And he has now scored his 45th ODI century and smashed an 80-ball century. He made 113 runs off 87 balls, with 12 fours and one six. With this impressive knock, both Indian batters also gained in the latest ICC ODI rankings.

Virat has risen two spots to sixth in the batsmen rankings following his 45th ODI century, while Rohit has risen one spot to eighth. The Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka, who was the lone survivor for the visitors, smashed a brilliant unbeaten century. Thus, he also jumped 20 spots, up to 61.

On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj, who took 2/30 in the game, has also moved four spots up to 18th. Meanwhile, in the T20Is, Suryakumar is still at the top of the chart after his brilliant century in the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka.

Australian test opener Usman Khawaja, who scored an unbeaten 195 against South Africa in the third and final test, has jumped to the 8th spot in the test rankings. Meanwhile, New Zealand batter Tom Latham, who scored 71 and 62 in two innings of the second test against Pakistan, has moved to the 19th spot. Marnus Labuschagne is still at the top of the rankings in Test cricket.
