"Can't wait for it"- Marnus Labuschagne picks an Indian bowler whom he is eagerly waiting to face in upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series

The World Test Championship cycle 2021–23 has reached its business end, and there are still several teams fighting for spots in the final, which will be played in England. Australia is the front runner to qualify for the WTC final.

Then, it is India who is sitting at the second spot on the table. But for them, the biggest challenge lie infront of them. India will host Australia for the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will start in February. India must win the series to qualify for the WTC final, while Australia needs just one win and one draw to qualify.

The rivalry between these two teams has grown in the past few years, as India is the only team that has beaten Australia twice in their backyards. Thus, Australia will also look to take their revenge on India this time around and regain the BGT trophy.

Marnus Labuschagne, Australia's top-ranked Test batter, has also begun his preparations for the crucial series. The 28-year-old is eager to face Ravi Ashwin and can't wait to play tests in India. Notably, Labuschagne was the leading run-scorer in the BGT 2020–21. He scored 426 runs at 53.25, including one century and two fifties.

But he struggled against Ashwin, who dismissed him twice, and the 28-year-old couldn't score much off him. In a recent interaction, Labuschagne said that he has made some necessary changes to his batting that will help him face Ashwin in India.

Labuschagne said, "Since then [the last series] I've already started thinking. I've changed some of my game because of what I've heard about Ashwin and how he bowled to me. I've adapted my game to try and foil a few of his ideas and ways he goes about it, so it's going to be a lovely game of chess and I can't wait for it."

The 28-year-old also admitted that the Australian team has already started working for the BGT in India, despite some players playing in the ongoing Big Bash League. He said that he has already planned how he will go about the business and will see how it works. The first match of the BGT series will start on February 9 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
