The International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier revealed the ODI and T20I teams of 2022 on  Tuesday and Monday respectively, and now they have also revealed their best teams for the longest format of the game from the previous year. It includes all those performers who did well throughout the last year in the test cricket.

The ICC has announced English Test captain Ben Stokes to lead the team, which features only one Indian batter. The Test team is dominated by the Australian players, as there are four Australians in the team.

It has the No. 1 ranked test batter, Marnus Labuschagne, and the Indian star wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, who also made it to the Test team of 2021. Meanwhile, the last year's test team had three Indian players, but now it has only one.

On the other hand, English Test cricket has seen major growth ever since Stokes became the captain of the team, which is why he has been named the captain of the team. For the opening slot, Australia's Usman Khawaja and West Indian captain Kraigg Brathwaite made it to the team. Labuschagne will be joined by Babar Azam and Jonny Bairstow in the middle order.

Stokes and Pant will be at Nos. 6 and 7. The bowling lineup will include the likes of Australian test skipper Pat Cummins, South African star pacer Kagiso Rabada, and veteran English pacer James Anderson. Notably, the lone spinner in the team is the veteran leg-spinner Nathan Lyon.

The only Indian player is Rishabh Pant, who ended 2022 as India's leading run-scorer in the longest format. He played 12 innings and scored 680 runs at an average of 61.81 and a strike rate of 90.90. He also smashed two centuries and four half-centuries, along with 22 sixes in tests.

ICC Test Team of 2022: Usman Khawaja, Kraigg Brathwaite, Marnus Labuschagne, Babar Azam, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Nathan Lyon, and James Anderson
