"Bumrah toh uske paas bhi nahi aata"- Ex-Pak Legend makes shocking statement on the comparison between Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi

Over the years, the game has seen many incredible fast bowlers who have ruled the cricket world. And when it comes to modern-day cricket, there are a few pacers who are carrying that legacy forward. India's ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi are certainly two pacers who are among the best.

It is not an wrong statement to say that these two are among the best in all three formats of the game. Bumrah has been out of the action for almost six months now due to his back injury, while Shaheen is also in rehab after recovering from his knee injury.

The numbers of both Asian pacers are just phenomenal. Bumrah has 128, 121, and 70 wickets in 30 tests, 72 ODIs, and 60 T20Is, while Shaheen has 99, 62, and 58 wickets in 25 tests, 32 ODIs, and 47 T20Is.

Stats suggest that both pacers are equally effective in all three formats of the game, but former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has a different opinion about this comparison. In an interview with Paktv.tv, he was asked who was the better bowler between Shaheen and Bumrah, as well as who was the best Pakistani pacer in modern times.

To which he replied, "Shaheen bahut accha hai, Bumrah toh uske paas bhi nahi aata (Shaheen is very good. Bumrah doesn't come near him). Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Shaheen, all three are good."

Meanwhile, Bumrah will be eyeing his return to the national side in the final two tests against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting on February 9. The BCCI announced the squad for the first two tests, and Bumrah was not part of it as he hasn't completely recovered.

Thus, he will be very important for the Indian bowling attack if he can make it into the team for the last two. India needs to win the BGT series at least by a margin of 3-0 or 3-1 to qualify for the ongoing World Test Championship final.
