Big update on Jasprit Bumrah, the pacer is all set to miss yet another important Indian series

The last 12 months have seen various injuries to India's key players. India is currently playing the first test against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Nagpur. They are currently missing the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant.

Even Shreyas Iyer missed the first test due to fitness issues. Although India has named the squad for the first two tests only, they were hoping that Bumrah might make the recovery ahead of the team's selection. But as per the media reports, it has been learned that Bumrah might miss the entire series.

As per the reports, the BCCI doesn't want to risk him too early; thus, he might miss the entire Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The pacer missed the 2022 Asia Cup, and then he also missed the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, the Indian management is looking for a bigger role for him.

They want him to be ready for the all-important 2023 ODI World Cup later this year in India. According to a report from "The Telegraph" newspaper, Bumrah will not join the squad for the final two games of the series. He is currently completing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for his back injury.

It's been almost six months since the 28-year-old played his last international game. He played his last game when Australia toured India for three T20Is just ahead of the T20 World Cup. However, the BCCI named him in the ODI squad for the Sri Lankan series but later pulled him out.

Although he has recovered completely and is bowling in the nets, the rest of the four-match series will give him more time for his rehab. The BCCI hasn't named the squad for the 3rd and 4th tests against Australia. But the selection committee is expected to announce the squad in the coming weeks, along with the squad for the ODI series as well.
