"It's Like torture playing against him"- Dinesh Karthik revealed toughest bowler he has faced; claimed Virat and Rohit also find him difficult

There was a time when the overseas batters dominated the Indian bowlers. A great example was seen in the first test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy when the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin demolished a strong Australian batting order.

The performance of Indian bowlers has improved in both home and away conditions over the last 5–6 years, and now India is among the top sides when it comes to bowling out the opposition. Meanwhile, veteran Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik revealed the name of the bowler against whom he finds it difficult to bat.

He also stated that batting against him is difficult for not only him, but also for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In the discussion on "Rise of New India" with Cricbuzz, DK revealed that it was none other than the Indian pacer Mohammed Shami who was the toughest bowler to face.

He said, "If I have to use one word for Shami it will be ‘Torture Shami’. Because in my whole career, he is the toughest bowler I have faced. But he has been nasty to play in the nets. I thought I was the only one so then I asked Kohli, Rohit, and they are all legends of the game and they all said they hate playing Shami."

The veteran wicketkeeper said that it is not just about an excellent seam position that makes Shami so special but also his length, which makes him unplayable at times. The pacer is part of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.

He is India's premium pacer in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, while Karthik is part of the commentary panel in the series. India registered a big win of an inning and 132 runs in the first test in Nagpur. Now, both teams will lock horns against each other in the second test in Delhi, starting on February 17.
