The New Zealand tour of India begins tonight, and before that, Indian cricket team pace bowler Deepak Chahar has hinted of opening the batting for India in the 1st T20 match to be played tonight.

The New Zealand cricket team and the Indian cricket team is back in action tonight, after the former suffered a defeat to Australia in the T20 World Cup 2021 final, whereas, India got knocked out from the group stages of Super 12 round.

The series between India and New Zealand mark the beginning of a new era, as former star Indian batsman Rahul Dravid takes over as India's Head Coach role full-time. While also, Rohit Sharma will be in-charge as India's full time T20 captain after Virat Kohli stepped down from the role after the T20 World Cup 2021.

Eyes will be on the Indian team, as they look to take revenge over New Zealand, who have defeated India in the World Test Championship final and in the T20 World Cup 2021 as well.

And one certain player who would like to impress everyone is India's medium-pace bowler Deepak Chahar. But, in a hilarious post on his social media handle, the Uttar Pradesh born cricketer hinted that he is set to open for India in the 1st T20.

Deepak Chahar posted a photo on his Twitter account, in which, he is seen training with Rohit Sharma, with a bat on his hand, and hilariously wrote, "All set to open the innings at my home ground tonight."

It is to be noted that the first T20I match between India and New Zealand will be played in Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium. And Deepak Chahar, even though he is born in Uttar Pradesh, plays domestic cricket for Rajasthan.

India vs New Zealand T20I Series

India and New Zealand is set to play 3 T20 International matches as part of the series, which also includes 2 Test matches to conclude the series.

New Zealand coming in wounded as they lost the T20 World Cup 2021 final to Australia, while India got knocked out from the group stages after 2 straight defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand. 

India will be looking to take its revenge as the 1st of the 3 T20Is will be played tonight from 7 PM Indian Standard Time at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The remaining 2 matches will be played on 19th and 21st of November.
