Deepak Hooda files complaint against Krunal Pandya; pulls out of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Krunal Pandya finds himself in yet another controversy after his Baroda teammate Deepak Hooda reportedly filed a complaint against him. The Kings XI Punjab all-rounder has also canceled his 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy participation after a fight with Krunal Pandya.
Local news channel TV9 Gujarati reported that the two Baroda all-rounders had a heated argument during the practice matches. The team’s head coach Prabhakar and veteran pacer Munaf Patel were present at the spot along with some junior team members.
CricTracker has understood that Krunal Pandya abused Deepak Hooda and even threatened him. Thus, due to this reason, Deepak Hooda has informed the Baroda Cricket Association that he would not play for the team in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Hooda’s absence could be a massive loss for the Baroda cricket team because they had not named veteran all-rounder Yusuf Pathan in the squad for this tournament. Krunal Pandya was set to lead the team, and Deepak Hooda’s IPL experience could have helped them do well in this competition.
Unfortunately, it seems like the fans will not be able to witness Hooda continue his IPL form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Baroda is one of the only three teams to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy championship twice. They have an opportunity this year to win the title for the third time.
However, that dream could be a tough one to be fulfilled in Deepak Hooda’s absence. The 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy began on January 10, 2021. This will be a massive competition with 102 T20s.
Big names like Suresh Raina, Sreesanth, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mandeep Singh, Siddarth Kaul, Karn Sharma, Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and many other Indian Premier League stars will be in action during the competition until January 31.
