Dhanashree Verma shares a heartfelt message after Yuzvendra Chahal's exclusion from WC 2021
The Board of Control for Cricket in India raised many eyebrows after the Indian side for the ICC World Cup 2021 was announced yesterday. The total of 15 players were named with some shocking inclusions as well as exclusions. Along with that, 3 additional players were also named in as the reserve cricketers if something goes wrong.
The batting department of the Indian side consists of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan. The Spin department had the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy.
The management only named 3 pacers in form of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Whereas the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are present in the reserve list.
The most shocking exclusion can be considered as that of Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg spinner lost his place as the side went with Rahul Chahar and the mystery spinner Varun. The chief selector Chetan Sharma stated the reason for Chahal's absence as they wanted a quick spin bowler based on the UAE pitches.
Considering this, Dhanashree Verma couldn't control her emotions. She went on to her Instagram handle and posted a story there. Her main tagline was, "Ye Waqt Bhi Guzar Jaega". You can watch that story here:
Chahal didn't have a great first half of IPL 2021 as he would have expected.
However, this squad isn't fully final yet. Based on Phase 2 of IPL 2021, the decisions can be altered. Yuzi still has the chance to find his spot based on the Indian Premier League's performance. He has so far bagged 4 wickets from 7 games during the Phase 1. With the matches being played on turning tracks, it would be exciting to see if he manages to turn his fate.
