Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has made a bold prediction for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Karthik, who has not retired from cricket yet become a commentator, shared his opinion on who can be the batsman and bowler with the most runs and wickets, respectively in the upcoming event.

Many fans would know that the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will happen in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17 onwards. Initially, India was supposed to host this competition. However, the BCCI decided to stage the event in the Middle East.

Just a few weeks from now, the United Arab Emirates and Oman will play host to the ICC T20 World Cup for the first time ever. Before them, South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India had hosted the competition.

Dinesh Karthik was a member of the Indian team that won the ICC T20 World Cup 2007. Now ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian wicket-keeper batsman appeared on a digital show for the International Cricket Council.

In that show, Dinesh Karthik was asked who will be the batsman with the most runs. He picked Rohit Sharma and David Warner before adding:

“Both of them open the innings. Both of them are solid players. I would put money on either one of them. Both are very hungry.”

Next, Dinesh Karthik replied to the question of who will be the best bowler in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He named KKR teammate Varun Chakravarthy and said:

“My choice is a guy called Varun Chakravarthy. I feel he’s got something really special in him. If India goes all the way, I can promise you this boy that I’m speaking about will have played a major role in them moving forward in this tournament. Remember the name ‘Varun Chakravarthy’."
