Dinesh Karthik Reveals The Exact Reason Behind The Heated Exchange Between R Ashwin And Eoin Morgan

On Tuesday, KKR defeated Delhi Capitals by three wickets to strengthen their position on the points table. While the game was interesting, it was the heated exchange of words between KKR skipper Eoin Morgan and DC player R Ashwin that took the cake of the limelight. Dinesh Karthik played the peacemaker at that moment and later, in the virtual press conference, the KKR keeper provided the exact reason why the incident took place.

KKR look favourites to land a playoff spot

After losing the previous encounter, Kolkata Knight Riders were in need of a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. They started off well with the ball by taking frequent wickets and also restricting the run-scoring. Eventually, Delhi could post just 127 runs and with the help of the late blitz by Sunil Narine and Nitish Rana, KKR chased the target with 10 balls to spare.

As per DK, the incident which triggered the heated exchange was when a ball thrown by outfielder Rahul Tripathi ricocheted off Rishabh Pant and went for an overthrow. R Ashwin called for the run and completed it. Eoin Morgan was unhappy about it but did not express it fully at that point in time.

However, after R Ashwin got out a few moments later, he had a few words with Tim Southee. This was when Eoin Morgan also came onto the scene. Just when things were about to turn even more ugly, DK interrupted and brought peace to the proceedings. Dinesh said that he was happy to be the peacemaker in that situation. Ashwin later picked Morgan's wicket and celebrated wildly.
