Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best fast bowlers in world cricket right now. The Indian cricket team star played a vital role in the success that the Indian team achieved on the recently-concluded tour of England.

Now, Jasprit Bumrah is back in the IPL, and he is currently playing for the Mumbai Indians in Match 30 of IPL 2021 against the Chennai Super Kings. The right-arm pacer has bowled well so far in the match, dismissing the duo of Ravindra Jadeja and DJ Bravo.

The one thing that fans would have noticed about Jasprit Bumrah is that the Mumbai Indians star is playing with the jersey number 100 tonight. The reason behind it is that it is his 100th IPL match of his career, and it is pertinent to note that all of them have come for the Mumbai Indians.

Bumrah had started his IPL journey with the Mumbai-based franchise back in the year 2013. He made his IPL debut against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he opened his account by scalping the wicket of none other than Virat Kohli.

A look at the IPL career of Jasprit Bumrah so far

Jasprit Bumrah has represented the Mumbai Indians in 100 matches, and he has 117 wickets to his name. Heading into the game against the Chennai Super Kings, Bumrah had an economy rate of 7.40 and a strike rate of 19.60 with the ball.

Bumrah finished second in the Purple Cap leaderboard last year. He is yet to win a Purple Cap, but looking at the way he bowled against Chennai Super Kings, it will not be wrong to predict him as one of the favorites to win that award this season.

It will be exciting to see MI can chase the 157-run target set by CSK and make it a winning special match for Bumrah.
